Choose your own adventure

Do you ever wonder what would happen if you took another route in life? Or even just another route home? Well yesterday I decided to mix up my commute and do just that.

Was I hoping it would trigger a Sliding Doors type moment? Hmm… Maybe.

A few things have happened in my life recently that are making me question whether I’m on the right path… And as I can’t change the past, I’m starting to think about the direction I follow in the future.

So on a sunshiny winter’s day I caught the ferry home from Circular Quay, instead of taking the usual train and bus route (small steps!), and it was beautiful. Surrounded by the deep blue ocean, Sydney sparkled under a bright blue sky. And as we cut through the waves, passing multi-million dollar mansions with Harbour views along the way, it was hard to wipe the smile from my face. It certainly beat my usual train and bus ride home!

I arrived at Watsons Bay Wharf, salty, windswept, with messy hair and grinning like a small child. It was brilliant. So exhilarating!

Changing one small thing reconfirmed my love of Sydney at a time when I’m missing home, family and feeling a little lost. Taking a small step outside of my comfort zone reminded me of the joy that can be found in the simple things in life.

Take a look at the pictures I took below. Aren’t they spectacular! It was a journey that reminded me to look around and see the beauty in everything, every day. I am in charge of my own adventure. It’s time to choose the one I want.

Have a great day,

BBx
